HOW TO CURL LASHES THE RIGHT WAY

Hold the curler the way you normally hold a pair of scissors.

Open the curler completely and bring it to the upper lashes.
make sure to get the strip right up to the roots & check to see
that you have all of the lashes inside the curler. Place the tool
upright, so the curve faces out. Close the curler carefully on
the lashes and squeeze lightly, with a soft, pulsing grip.
Tilt curler upwards so that the curve of the curler lines up
with the curve of your eyelid's crease. This is the pro secret.
It will give you curl, rather than a crimp effect.
Squeeze the curler handles in small pulses with light pressure,
holding the tool in place for several seconds without blinking.
from roots to tip, press over the lash with the same pressure.
Repeat if necessary to define your lashes before applying makeup

Reason For Using Eye Cream - How To Shop For One

Have a moisturizer for the delicate skin around your eyes deserves a little extra. Here, the many benefits of eye cream, along with a few product recommendations.

Why you need it: Not all skin is created equal. Because the skin around your eyes is thinner, and because of all the tiny muscles in the area, it's more sensitive and prone to a variety of issues, like puffiness,
discoloration, and fine lines and wrinkles. Plus, there are minimal oil glands around your eyes to help
keep the skin naturally hydrated, so finding the right eye cream can help ward off numerous complexion concerns.

For puffiness: Undereye puffiness comes from fluid buildup that causes swelling in the tissues around your eyes. This can come from allergies and sinuses, but it can also be a result of sleep deprivation, diet, alcohol, and just plain old ageing.
The easiest way to get rid of puffy eyes is to drink water. You must try to drink at least eight to ten glasses of water each day. When the body is well hydrated, there is less chance of water retention which can cause your eyelids and other parts of your body to swell. Water will also help to flush out toxins from the water. Along with increasing your intake of water you must also reduce the amount of salt you eat. Also it is better not to drink sodas, coffees, or sugary drinks as it can dehydration.  Reduce your salt intake. A high intake of sodium may increase your fluid retention, in which case reducing the salt in your diet may produce good results (not only for your eyes, but also for your health in general). Consume cabbage or cranberry juice. Both are diuretics, which will help you "evacuate" some excess fluid.

For dark circles: Discoloration around the eyes can be a result of various factors, including heredity, stress, smoking, sun exposure, pigmentation, and shadows from the hollowing out of your eyes.  Determine how much sleep you need (it’s usually 7-9 hours per night, but varies for different people at different times
throughout their lives). Try to get that amount regularly for a couple of weeks to see if that helps.

Thinning skin: Taking certain dietary supplements such as Fish Oil and Flax Seed has been shown to help thicken the skin as we age. There is a prescription drug called Retinoid that is prescribed specifically for thinning skin. Retonic Acid seems to help slow the degeneration of the collagen fibers in thinning skin. In addition to this, doctors suggest that you stay hydrated by drinking at least eight 8 oz. glasses of water every day.
Thinner skin mixed with constant muscle action (winking, blinking, even smiling) can lead your eyes to show signs of aging faster than the rest of your face. Make sure you look for collagen-building ingredients, such as retinol, to help boost thinning skin and smooth out fine lines. Above all, the greatest prevention against premature thinning of the skin is to keep your skin healthy. A diet rich in nutrients along with sufficient fluid intake will do more to maintain your skin than any amount of moisturizer. Dehydration, or an insufficient supply of body fluids, can lead to many types of skin damage

Tips and tricks:

• Storing your eye cream in the refrigerator will help soothe and cool tired eyes and help with puffiness.
• Using eye cream under your makeup can help concealer apply more smoothly and prevent it from building up in fine lines
• Use fragrance free products  since the eye area is so sensitive.

Guide To Make-up Brushes

Foundation Brush
A foundation brush designed to create even finish, flawless look, designed to provide a smooth, even finish, flawless look. Use to apply, distribute, and blend foundation into all areas in the face.
When used correctly they help to smooth out the product and give you a flawless finish. Use the brush to pick up some product, then apply in a circular motion. If you notice streaks or an uneven application, try wetting your brush first and squeezing out excess water.

Stippling Brush
A flat-topped, full circular brush used for lightweight application and blending of any foundations. Ideal for creating soft layers or adding textures to the skin. This dual-fiber brush is the trade secret for creating airbrushed, high-definition results with all types of makeup: ... and creamy blushes especially on those of us who are blessed (not!) with large pores, as it really fills them in evenly as opposed to just covering them with a light layer.

Powder Brush
Large Powder Brush : Full and dense for dusting loose or pressed powder on face or body. This brush is particularly good for blush ...  Use these brushes to lightly blend in face powders, bronzes or blushes or a softer more natural look. It’s evenly distributed bristles help create a flawless finish.

Bronzer Brush
All over face brush dusts on bronzer for smooth, even application. Load brush with powder, then gently tap on palm of hand to shake off excess before sweeping over face. But unlike the powder brushes that leave a light and natural result, the bronzer brush should be used for a more dramatic look- think heavier face powders and rosier cheeks. Use for heavy coverage only.

Contour Brush
Use on the face to apply, blend or contour powder products. Softly rounded dome tip delivers just enough colour; smoothly blends colour into the face. Of natural fibres. (generally the areas that naturally reflect light.)

Shadow Brush
From subtle and smoky to uncompromisingly intense, create immaculate eyes that will have all others following yours. A girl should have several sizes of shadow brushes, used to apply eye shadows to the eyelid. Large for broad sweeping, small for under eye and highlighting the brow.

Blending Brush
For shading or blending of colour or creamy products. This brush has fine, densely packed fibres that are arranged in an oval shape. Just like the eye shadow brush, the blending brush also comes in different sizes, depending on what purpose you’re going to use it and the size of your lids. For those that have wide-spaced lids, bigger blending brushes are very effective, while the dome-shaped ones are best for defining the crease a bit more. Small blending brushes are perfect for those that don't have much lid space and for defining the outer v of the eyes to give the illusion of depth.

Smudge Brush
A smudge brush is perfect for applying, and smudging, dense bursts of color. Whether you use it to blend in a eyeliner or heavily pigmented shadow, a smudge brush can help you apply color where you want it without a mess. When you want a less clean cut and more edgy look, use this brush to smudge your eye-liner. The end result is a seriously sexy, smokey look!

Concealer Brush
A flexible fibre flat brush with slight pointed tip for precision application and blending of all concealer formulas and other emollient products. Use to apply concealer to blemishes and annoying under eye circles! Also excellent for precision application of product to delicate areas- such as under the eye, around the brow, around your nose and mouth etc.

Fan Brush
Add the finishing touches to your look with this brush that dusts, wipes, and redistributes powders along your features. The flat fan shape allows for even and soft definition, making it an ideal tool for gently sweeping bronzing powder,  must-have for clean-up, this brush can also be used to fan away excess product like eye makeup fallout, without leaving traces in its wake. It’s a versatile face brush that is easy to use and very handy.

Eyebrow Brush
Use to define or add fill. Its precise angled tip provides pro-style application.  Use to apply powder, liquid or cream products. Slanted tip allows for easy eyebrow fill in and shaping. The bristles are generally very stiff to allow for precise application. Use head on to colour in brows, or turn sideways to create flawless edges for a perfectly filled in brow. Can also be used to apply gel eye-liners!

And finally, never underestimate the power of the original make-up brush—your fingertips. Because of the heat of your skin, fingers make unbeatable blending tools.

Summer Lip Care: Tips To Protect Your Lips From Sun Damage

The summer is fast approaching, and that means more and more time spent outdoors. Hopefully, it also means you've been stocking up (and slathering on) sun protection factor (SPF) sunscreen. But 70 percent of beachgoers who lather on sunscreen onto their skin will overlook one essential spot on the body: their lips.

According to a study conducted at the University Of Texas Medical Branch Department Of Dermatology, researchers evaluated the use of ultraviolet light (UVL) lip protection and knowledge about the role of UVL as a risk factor for lip cancer in an outdoor environment — the beach. Of the 299 survey responders, only 37 percent those who applied sunscreen properly on their skin also used lip protection. While the survey responders knew UV damaged their skin, many were unaware that sun exposure could lead to lip cancer.

Ultraviolet (UV) rays are the most important risk factor when it comes to skin cancer — UV rays are associated with 90 percent of all nonmelanoma skin cancers (NMSC) says the Skin Cancer Foundation (SCF). Lips have no melanin, which makes them more susceptible to sun damage cause by UV exposure. Signs of sun damage on the lips develop overtime as a result of excessive sun exposure over the years. The sun's UV rays can impact the production of collagen on your lips which can result in the formation of wrinkles on and around the area as a sign of early aging and sun damage says Mayo Clinic.

Who is more susceptible to lip cancer? Men or women?
Researchers at the University of Western Australia conducted a 25-year study (from 1985 to 2006)` to report on the occurrence of lip cancer and the mortality rates of residents in Western Australia. The data provided by the Western Australian Cancer Registry showed that lip cancer represented approximately 50 percent of all oral cancers with 81 percent of new cases occurring on the lower lip. The prevalence of the disease in men in comparison to women is three to one with males over the age of 50 being the most susceptible group.

Women have a reduced risk of lip cancer compared to their male counterparts mostly just because they use products more — they are more likely to put on lipstick and other sun screening lip products. Research indicates women who have excessive sun exposure and only apply lip protection once a day or less have twice the risk of developing the disease than women who have a greater usage of lip applicators per day.

How To Keep Your Luscious Pout
It is important to keep lips soft, smooth, hydrated and healthy during the summer to protect them from sun damage. The application of a lip balm and continually drinking water can help facilitate your protection against UV rays. However, do not just apply an SPF lip balm on sunny days — it is important to use the stuff every day, even if its cloudy — UV rays can get through a cloudy sky. Also, make sure to apply and reapply every day at least once every two hours, says the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD).

Products For Healthy-Looking Lips
It's time to empty out your pocketbook and pick which lip product tubes get the boot this summer.
For sun protection, opt for a lip balm that has an indicated SPF 15 or higher to keep your lips smooth with long-lasting moisturization.

Lipsticks that are shiny or contain high gloss with little-to-no color are harmful to your lips because they can direct UV rays to the area. Lip gloss, like high-shine lipsticks, acts as a reflector for the sun's ray and those without an SPF can increase your chances of developing skin cancer says Discovery.com.

Tip 1: If your lips become dry and start to peel, use some sugar and olive oil to exfoliate your skin and  remove the accumulated dead skin cells.
Tip 2: Look for a lip product that has a base of beeswax, petroleum jelly, or paraffin. These products will seal moisture and stay on your lips longer in comparison to thinner balms and glosses.
Tip 3: Ditch the lip gloss and switch to a matte lip product with an SPF.
Tip 4: If you need to stick with lip gloss, apply a colored lipstick to your lips first and then add some shine. A colored lipstick with an   SPF product is your best bet.
Tip 5: Opt for a lip gloss product with a minimum of SPF 30.

keeping  your face and hair clean during the hot months is very important;
it's crucial to keep our feet clean and non-smelly too.

Its essential to bath your feet every day in soapy water splashing water on your feet isn't enough. Lather your feet thoroughly with soap and make sure you scrub them with a sponge, Also while cleaning your feet; ensure that you clean your toes and scrub your heels.

Your feet need to be washed on a regular basis with a good anti-bacterial soap. Killing the nasty bacteria will naturally help alleviate smelly foot odour. And, be sure to rinse and dry your feet well after washing them, you can apply a talcum powder or mist every night before you go off to sleep.
This will keep your feet clean and odour free.

Moisturize your feet daily to ensure that they are soft and supple. Even though it is very hot, moisturizing your feet on a daily basis will keep them clean and also prevent them from cracks.
